It must have been somewhere in 2002. It is the end of April when four guys in Ingolstadt sit there with sanding paper in their hands. We are helping out a friend and colleague, giving the finishing touch to piece of laminated plastic. A couple of weeks later Mark Bergold's Buddha seat will see the light of day during on of the first Design May, a furniture fair held in Berlin. Caught by the spirit of the German capitol, Mark moves over to the Volkswagen Potsdammer Studio. Another Design May follows and something starts to grow. Nach Acht is a cooperation between designers, tinkering and producing different kinds of furniture. And yes, everything is taking place after the daily job, hence the name.
At the end of January the "Stammtisch" arrives in Ingolstadt. One of the first prototypes. Circle closed, all happy. A bit of Berlin in Ingolstadt, enjoyed ever after, mostly after eight.
